Great News:Successful in-orbit operation of the JT-1 03 Satellite’s perovskite solar cells for over a year

Time:2025-11-11

At this year's "Two Sessions," commercial satellites were listed as a top-priority emerging industry for support. China plans to launch tens of thousands of satellites in the near future. The China SatNet project plans to launch 13,000 satellites, and the Shanghai G60 Constellation project plans to launch 15,000 satellites. Shanghai Fuxi Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Geoharbour group, has independently designed and developed a new perovskite solar cell and its energy control system, which has already been deployed on multiple satellites for orbital tests.

According to a report from Beijing JTSPACE Technology Co., Ltd on November 11, 2025: JT-1 03 Satellite's perovskite solar cells continue to operate normally after one year in orbit. Perovskite solar cells have a significant cost advantage, priced at only one-tenth the cost of triple-junction GaAs solar cells. In addition, it offers other advantages, such as low mass and high-power output. Perovskite solar cells present an efficient energy solution for various use cases, including, but not limited to, satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and space computing power. Fuxi Energy has now established a complete closed-loop technological process, encompassing patents, product design, and in-orbit testing.
